On February 4th, 2021, 23-year-old Sandra Birchmore was found dead in her apartment by the Canton Police. The Medical Examiner ruled it a suicide but friends and family have their doubts.
19 months later, three Stoughton Police officers have resigned including one who is the last known person to see Sandra alive.
Episode Seventh: A Noble Failure
In the Season Two finale of The Case, Kirk describes the hurdles in pursuing justice for Sandra Birchmore. Some new information has come to light from the crime scene and Sandra's family representatives continue to amend the wrongful death lawsuit following new information brought forth in this podcast.
Episode Five: Joshua Heal
In the fifth episode of Season 2, Minihane introduces Joshua Heal, who was the Animal Control Officer in Stoughton for years before leaving to become a Abington Police Officer in 2020. Information surrounding Joshua Heal's involvement with Sandra was redacted in much of the Internal Affairs Report but after talking to dozens of sources, Kirk was able to fill in the blanks and uncover new information about another officer who took advantage of Sandra.
Episode Four: Surveillance + Mailbag
Our investigation into Sandra Birchmore's death leads us to obtain surveillance footage from her apartment complex showing Matthew Farwell entering and leaving the building on what we believe to be is the last day of Birchmore's life. Kirk answers listener questions in the final episode of 2022.
Episode Three: Two Fridays
In the third episode of Season 2, Minihane details the new information brought to light involving a conversation Sandra Birchmore had with a colleague just days before her death. The investigation by Stoughton Police and the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office leads to more questions than answers.
